If you’re someone who loves photography phones, my personal suggestion is to definitely check out the Vivo X90 Series. I recently took this phone on a trip to Vietnam and gave it a pretty intense test run. Whether it was low-light conditions or fast-moving shots, the camera impressed me in every situation.
Both X90 and X90 Pro variants are available, but in this blog, we’ll focus more on the X90 Pro, since that’s the one I tested extensively. From its leather finish design to the large 1-inch sensor camera and smart AI features, this phone genuinely felt like a powerful combo of photography and performance.

Design Feel
If you’re looking for a camera-centric phone, the Vivo X90 Pro should definitely be on your list. I had the black variant of the Vivo X90 Pro and the blue variant of the X90. Both phones have a premium look, but I personally loved the leather-finish back panel of the X90 Pro. The grip is solid, especially thanks to the vegan leather texture.
The X90 Pro also adds a touch of flair with a glass strip. It features a metallic frame and even includes an IR blaster, allowing you to use the phone as a remote control. You also get an IP68 rating, great stereo speakers, and a fast-working optical fingerprint sensor.
The X90, on the other hand, has a slightly different design language. It comes with a matte finish and a glass back panel. It carries an IP64 rating, and I found its blue color quite attractive.

Display Experience
Both phones feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display. Curved screens are becoming rare these days, but Vivo has retained that feature. With brightness levels going up to 1300 nits, outdoor visibility is excellent. The display output is vibrant, the colors are punchy, and the overall experience is immersive.

Camera Quality
Now let’s talk about the highlight feature — the camera. The X90 Pro comes with a massive 1-inch 50MP sensor that literally captures DSLR-level photos. Even without portrait mode, you get natural background blur. It also has a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP portrait lens.
Vivo has partnered with Zeiss optics. The Zeiss T* coating and 7P lens system significantly reduce flare, and this time they’ve added a new feature — Zeiss Flare Portrait mode, which lets you add cinematic flares through software.
Smart AI Features
Another crazy feature is Zeiss APS mode. With the help of AI, it automatically straightens tilted architectural photos. During testing, I intentionally took a tilted shot, and the phone corrected it on its own. There’s also a motion snapshot mode that captures fast-moving subjects with clarity, like capturing flying leaves in the air.
You also get the option to toggle Zeiss ON or OFF. When ON, colors appear natural; when OFF, they look more punchy. Zeiss ON is great for human portraits, while OFF works well for landscapes.
Night Mode and Low Light Performance
This phone’s camera truly performs magic in low light. Even without night mode, it captures sharp details — thanks to the huge 1-inch sensor. There’s minimal noise, perfect textures, and excellent light management. HDR works beautifully too, and the various Zeiss portrait styles (like Biotar and Planar) give every scene a unique look.
Vivo X90 Video Recording
The Vivo X90 Pro supports up to 8K video recording, but the best results were at 4K 30fps. The 1-inch sensor delivers natural background blur even without portrait mode. Low-light videos are impressive — it captured sharp details with low noise even in cave-like dark environments. The front camera is 32MP and does a good job in portrait mode as well.
A Performance
This phone runs on the Dimensity 9200 processor, which is a powerful chip. Paired with UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5 RAM, it handles gaming and multitasking like butter. Vivo has also added the V2 chip, which helps in low-light photography and display enhancement.
Benchmark scores are also impressive — it scored over 11,80,000 on AnTuTu, and showed 75% stability in CPU throttling tests. It easily handled heavy games like Call of Duty on low to ultra settings.
Battery and Charging
The Vivo X90 Pro comes with a 4870mAh battery that comfortably lasts a full day with normal usage. It supports 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. With fast charging, the phone charges fully in around 30–35 minutes.
Software Experience
The phone runs on Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13. It has the April security patch available and includes some pre-installed bloatware, which can be uninstalled. Vivo promises 3 years of software updates and 3 years of security patches.
X90 vs X90 Pro – What’s the Difference?
The major differences lie in design and camera. The X90 Pro comes with a vegan leather back and a 1-inch sensor, while the X90 has a glass back and a 50+12+12MP camera setup. Both phones have the same display and performance, with only minor differences in battery and charging.
Pricing and Availability
The exact India pricing hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but the expected price for the Vivo X90 Pro is likely to be around ₹70,000. The Vivo X90 will be slightly more affordable, expected to fall in the ₹55,000 range. Both phones will be available on offline and online platforms, and the most interesting part is that the X90 series comes with an international warranty
